Cartridge Cleaning

Cleaning is must; it should be done in a proper way. When you print a document or photo; the cartridges use tiny internal jets that spray the ink onto the paper. But after a few months, those jets start obstruction. And cleaning is the only way to get rid of this. To that end, follow the below steps:

  • Open the front cover and brush the debris from here, if any.
  • Use a clean cotton cloth/swab and gently wipe with.
  • Now, look inside, there should be ink cartridges. Make sure to clean them also, but do it gently.

Toner Examination

Brother also manufactures laser printer, and in lasers, they prefer to use tonners – a dry mixture of various particulars including carbon, black ink and other colouring particles that produces high-end grey and colourful prints on a paper. Being bigger in size they require more attention than non-laser printers. And they should also be cleaned for a better performance:

  • To maintain and fix the toner, first, lift the door that covers it. It depends on various models.
  • Look around; see if there is any debris or black spot on it.
  • If you suspect such things, then use a wipe cloth. But if it is leaking then it needs to replace immediately.
  • Use a vacuum cleaner, but do not vacuum on or over the metal pieces inside the printer.

Printers are like other peripheral devices; they also do require proper care and right maintenance and by doing that your printer can add many years in its lifespan with zero trouble.
